JAIL MINISTRY
The Jail Ministry’s purpose
is to visit individuals in jail and prison, sharing the good news of the
gospel. Jesus said “I was in prison and you visited me,” and, “when you do it
to one of the least of my brothers, you do it to me.” We demonstrate to those
who are incarcerated that they are loved and not forgotten by the Lord. By
amazing grace they too, can have a future full of hope and promise. We strive
to ensure safety and comfort of participants by pairing up I same-sex pairings
for group and one-on-one settings. Training is provided on the dos and don’ts
of jail visitation.
We minister in both county
jails and state prisons to a wide variety of inmates, from adult men and women
to juveniles. Jail Team Members participate in services held in the
institutions by sharing the gospel, personal testimonies, praying with inmates,
and worshiping in group settings with inmates. One-to-one ministry
opportunities are also available through visitations, correspondence, prayer
requests and mentoring those released.
